Abstract The objective of this work is to recognize the patterns of pollen morphology and ultrastructure of Alcantarea, genus belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, which pollen data may assist in the delimitation of species of Brazil. With these data it is intended to help to resolve taxonomic problems, especially in infrageneric classification and its relationship with Vriesea ss. It is expected to contribute with data from the pollen morphology to the diagnostic characters of the genus and increase the information available for the phylogenetic analysis of the family and thereby help for the advancement of systematic and morphological studies of the bromeliads. | |
