Abstract The idea of the project is to study a little-explored property of plasmonic nanoparticles, the chirality. Intrinsic of this kind of nanoparticles or induced a chiral environment, circular dichroism measurements of nanoparticles immobilized in porous matrices with chiral nematic organization, have optical activity in the spectral region of surface plasmon resonance. Highly sensitive to any change in the chemical environment, the proposed research project aims to develop a new class of chemical sensors, functionalizing the nanoparticles inside the chiral matrix with multi-bridge ligands for further studies of molecular recognition.
