Abstract

Soybean seeds are produced in various states of the country and high levels of productivity have been achieved, especially in the Southeast and Midwest. However, several environmental factors such as temperature, relative humidity of air, altitude, pluvial precipitation and phytosanitary conditions have limited the obtainment of seeds with satisfactory physiological and sanitary quality in some regions. Therefore, the choice of regions with favorable climate conditions for each cultivar can lead to the production of higher quality seed. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the physiological, sanitary and chemical quality of soybean cultivars seeds harvested at production sites with different soil and climatic characteristics and the influence of genotype-environment relationship. Furthermore, it will be evaluated the physiological potential and seed viability after storage. It will be used seeds of two soybean cultivars early cycle (M-SOY 7908 RR and CD 2630 RR) from four regions with different edaphoclimatic characteristics. Each region and cultivar will be represented for five seed lots. The influence of factors such as temperature, relative humidity of air, pests and diseases relevant to each region will be evaluated by the germination and vigor tests (accelerated aging, electrical conductivity and tetrazolium), as well as the verification of mechanical damage by sodium hypochlorite test, sanity test and determination of the chemical composition of the seeds. After determining the seed quality, seeds will be stored in a dry chamber (20 ± 2 °C and 45% RH of air) for six months to verify the viability and vigor maintenance. (AU)
