Abstract

Investigation procedures for delineation of areas for commercial and retail definition of centrality exerted by these areas is an important field of study for sliding on two fronts complementary, but not necessarily communicate the urban planning and management and academic studies. This field of study is also critical, because there is little comparison if we different studies in the recent literature, which sometimes also implies in conceptual vagueness. With this project, we plan to apply methodologies proposed by J. A. Sporker and B. Merénne-Schoumaker for delineation, intensity and specialization and commercial areas compare it to the boundaries established by the zoning and master plans. With this, we will also have an empirical basis for developing analysis on the restructuring of the city and identification of complex and polycentric urban structures.
