Abstract

Acknowledged by the specialized critics as one of the great urban short stories writer in his time, João Antônio (1937-1996) had his intellectual path marked by a professional career in journalism. As a journalist, both great press and small press benefited from his contributions. Among the various magazines and newspapers which João Antônio worked, Realidade magazine was specially outstanding in his biography, in the end of 1960 and beginning of 1970, as also was special his time working for O Pasquim in the seventies, results, in both cases, can be verified by the numerous reports written in the mentioned period. A part of this texts, altered or not, were put together in of the his books that has special appeal to the journalistic and literary practice: the book Malhação do judas carioca (1975), the project's corpus analysis. The present study intends to analyze the "short-story-reporting" format in the mentioned book, regarding the dialogs between fiction and journalistic speech. Thereat, the project aims to feature, with more accuracy, João Antônio's relation with the journalistic world, focusing on/in the writing of his so-called "short-story-reporting".
