Abstract

This research project abroad involves two teams of teachers, USP and UP, which similarly has been working on the creation, management, dissemination and application of knowledge in health, in the sciences and technologies of information and decision with a vocation for scientific research, teaching and service. Within the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FMRP - USP), we have the Regional Observatory on Health Care (ORAS) whose main objective is to ensure that health information gain in quality developments for assistance management and health research. For this ORAS has developed methodologies, algorithms and software products to produce the technological tools needed to build health care systems regionally proactive capacity, from the possibility of treating the integrated databases in the same environment, with data characterizing the population and its place. The mentioned group operates in the Information Systems Management in Health In contrast, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (FMUP) incorporates the CINTESIS, Centre for Research in Information Systems and Technologies in Health, with the objective of promote research in the fields of Biostatistics, Medical Informatics and Evaluation of Health Technologies and Decision Analysis, areas that involve not only the courses mentioned above, but also many teachers of FMRP in their research areas. The CINTESIS is currently housed at the Center for Medical Research, sharing facilities with the Department of Information Science and Decision Health (CIDES), Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. Remember that the University of Porto is responsible for one third of national scientific production - and that, along with the Hospital of St. John, 2nd largest university hospital in Portuguese - is a reference in terms of health in Portugal. In this scenario, the project presented here aims to deepen knowledge in projects of interest groups in the development of Information Systems in Healthcare from the exchange of information and documentation of software for health. It should be noted that all development is being thought shared by working three main areas that concern the infrastructure of health information systems: (1) terminologies in health, (2) interoperability between health information systems, (3) audit systems and data quality.
