Abstract This research project abroad is a direct consequence of a FAPESP grant (process number 2014 / 05662-4) for four months in 2014, where I had the opportunity to deepen in the interaction with the Health Informatics group of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. Thus the general idea is to expand the collaboration and the research agenda that has been maintained in a collaborative way by the groups of the Information and Computer Science Center, CIIS / FMRP - USP, coordinated by me, and the Center for Research in Technologies and Systems of Health Information, CINTESIS / FM - UP; coordinated by Prof. Altamiro Pereira; with the purpose of deepening knowledge in the development of Health Information Systems from the exchange of information and documentation of health software. This will be done with a major focus on the development of health information systems supported by the concept of "Decision Support System (DSS)" and "Semantic Web Technologies" or "Web Ontology Language." Thus, the general idea is to study how semantic web tools can be applied in health information systems to support decision-making processes in the context of patient care and to improve health data management. All shared development is being thought by working on three main themes , namely: 1. Development of an Adaptive Health Terminology Service as a Knowledge Portal for Portuguese-speaking Countries 2. Promote interoperability between information systems through the use of the semantic web 3. Development of systems of support for evidence-based decision-making for health monitoring and analysis. Finally, in all for small-scale analysis, convergence and validation tests to validate the processes under study and to avoid large-scale conceptual deviations. In this sense, during the whole period we will be working in the areas of health in which we have more experience, namely: Tuberculosis Control, Mental Health Attention Networks, Reproductive Health and Pharmacovigilance. | |
