Abstract

The main objective of this project is to investigate the differences with respect to dynamics speciation of trace metals lead and cadmium with natural organic matter (NOM) and humic substances purified from this. The methods of speciation is often limited to equilibrium studies with compounds previously isolated and frequent high concentrations of doping with metals, other times it is required application of previous treatment for separation and/or pre- concentration, which may cause changes in the characteristics the original system. This project proposes the development of models which consider the dynamic aspects, proposing to implement a procedure using modern electroanalytical methods such as scanned stripping chronopotentiometry, (SSCP) and Absence of gradients and Nernstian equilibrium stripping (AGNES), for determining metals in low concentrations in natural samples and compare them with the results obtained using a known technique, such as ultrafiltration and subsequent detection by inductively coupled plasma - optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). One important aspect of the project is the collaboration in the development and validation of an electrochemical probe on-site to minimize contamination that may be generated during the collection and storage of the sample, and promote cost reduction and total analysis time. Thus, this project may open a new perspective associated with dynamic speciation of metals in aquatic environments in a practical , fast and accurate.
