Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the effect of adding hydrophobic monomer 1.2 dodecanediol dimethacrylate (DDDMA) in the microshear bond strength of experimental surface sealant thermocycled or not. Five experimental sealants and a commercially available sealant (Biscover-Bisco) will be used. The experimental surface sealants will be manipulated by mixing, in various percentages, of monomers DDDMA and UDMA. The photoinitiator system will be composed by camphorquinone (CQ) and tertiary amine 4-ethyl benzoate dimetilamiono (EDBA) and as a solvent was used ethanol. The experimental groups will be named sequentially according to the monomeric content (DDDMA/UDMA): G1 and G7 (40/40), G2 and G8 (50/30), G3 and G9 (60/20), G4 and G10 (70/10), G5 and G11 (80/0) and G6 and G12 commercial sealant Biscover. The surfaces of one hundred and twenty bovine incisor will be flattened and divided in 12 groups (n=10). For each sample, two sealant surface cylinders will be confectioned in enamel surface. Light-activation will be performed with 1000 mW/cm2. Groups 7 to 12 will be thermocycled (1.000 cycles 5 ± 2° C and 55 ± 2° C). The samples will be submitted to microshear bond test with 50 N load at a crosshead speed 0.5 mm/min until fracture occur. The data will be submitted to 2-way ANOVA and Tukey test (±=0.05). (AU)
