Abstract

This project aims at establishing the guidelines and justifications for a research internship at the Education Institute, Lisbon University, Portugal, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jorge Ramos do Ó. The interest that supports the internship proposition derives from an academic dialogue already settled with the mentioned professor/researcher and from the need to improve the theoretical/methodological aspects of the research. Thus, as a part of an ongoing investigation on the so-called "pedagogical expansionism", the research internship abroad is expected to be an occasion for a focused study on Michel Foucault"s thought about two of his methodological proposals - archaeology and genealogy -, which has been the subject of the works carried out by Prof. Ramos do Ó. This theoretical study will take place concurrently with the analysis of a specific source archive that will be performed through the methodological plan then constituted. Moreover, there is the possibility of an investigative incursion into the archives of Education Institute, Minho University, a portuguese institution that maintains a range of important publications and researchers within the field of this research.
