Abstract

Television is the main means of mass communication in Brazil. Thus, influences the population directly through its programming. TV news become thus central in forming an opinion of the viewers. The construction of the image through such programs becomes important for that reason. In this context, it is of utmost importance to analyze the built of certain institutions and actors picture. The case of "mensalão" was the most prominent media and reached a long space on the TV news agenda. Our main objective of this research was to analyze the construction of the image of the judiciary in brazilian coverage "mensalão" by the Jornal Nacional of Rede Globo. For this, the programs JN shown during the trial of the "mensalão" will be used.
