Abstract

In this postdoctoral research, the idea is to investigate the relationship of new TCP congestion control algorithms and software defined networks (SDN) for optimizing data transport and delivery in Future Internet. This work will be accomplished at Florida International University (FIU), working in collaboration with a leading group on simulation integrated to real testbed tools like PrimoGENI Constellation. As a matter of fact, PrimoGENI Constellation (NSF Project) is a new tool designed to experience (simulate and real tests) for advanced SDN applications in Future Internet testbeds. During the postdoc period, we intend to work on two different TCP algorithms, one using a control feedback theory model to set rates to long-lived flows using OpenFlow. And the other work by making use of advanced quality of service in OpenFlow combined with machine generated congestion control. Both of these algorithms and implementations will be extensive evaluated on a range of scenarios suite to TCP evaluation. Including automatizing this task for Future Internet researchers use in their testbeds like GENI, FIBRE or Kyatera. (AU)
