Abstract The environment in which a child develops is fundamental and relates to the process of personal growth, since an early age. In certain circumstances, such as when the child is sick and needs to be hospitalized, the environment that surrounds her changes, and this sudden change may reflect negatively on the process of emotional development of the child, depending on how this experience is felt. We then consider the importance of the study of children's imaginary about the hospital environment in order to understand how they relate to this institution and its subjective contents involving the process of hospitalization. Using as a research tool the Drawing-and-Story Procedure with a Theme and a narrative written by the applicator of the procedure, with a group of 10 children admitted in to a public hospital in the city of Assis, São Paulo. Through analysis of these productions with PDE-T, this study aims to explore and reflect psychoanalytically, especially with the contributions of Winnicott, to understand the psychic fields found in the collective imagination of children, thus proposing a reflection on the hospital as good enough for both physical and mental health of the child. | |
