Abstract Binaries objects are located at the Kuiper Belt, which Charon was the first binary object detected in 1978. From their physical parameters, such as the semi-major axis and eccentricity, one can estimate the origin of the binary: giant collision or dynamical capture (GREENBERG; BARNES, 2008). In this work, we will analyze the orbital evolution of two binary systems under the tidal effects, from the present time (t=0) to the past (until the object gets near the Roche limit), in order to verify the time evolution of the semi-major axis and eccentricity of the binary. The initial value of the eccentricity of the binary can constrain its origin. (AU) | |
