Abstract

The beans stands out for cultural and socio-economic importance in Brazil. The search for better farming technologies associated profitability and high grain production, has received in recent years, much attention of researchers. In this sense the system of no tillage is increasingly present in the deployment of crops, a practice that uses of cover crops in aim of protect the soil and provide better conditions for the development of crops. Thus, the management of vegetation cover becomes essential for maintenance of no tillage also providing sustainability in agricultural systems. In terms of plant nutrition, nitrogen fertilization may be considered of paramount importance for the bean, since, aside from being one of the elements that the plant absorbs more and exports, its application in inadequate rates and less propitious times for full use of element by the plant, provide irregular development, physiological disturbances in the plant, and consequently, low grain yield. Considering the search for more information about the subject, the aim of this work is to study the effect of times of Urochloa ruziziensis management and nitrogen rates on yield components and seed yield of a common bean cultivar IAC Imperador, under conditions cerrado during autumn winter. Three periods management will be evaluated in relation to the sowing of bean (0, 15 and 30 days before sowing) and five rates of nitrogen (0, 40, 80, 120 and 160 kg/ha of N) and the effects on plant development, yield and seed quality obtained.
