Abstract

This Project aim is to extend and update previous research, funded by FAPESP and published in 2003 - with the final report entitled "O Crescimento da Agricultura Paulista e as Instituições de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão numa Perspectiva de Longo Prazo" (Araújo et al, 2003). This project main objective consists in: I) review historical series and identify recent changes over agriculture growth process; II) revisit the educational system, research and extension institutions to ascertain their projects and programs III) characterize how those institutions relate to each other; IV) Collect FAPESP current investment series in science and technology; V) and from total factor productivity estimative, update our thought about human capital investment influence on productivity gains and, particularly, those originated from technological innovation. In Summary, this project intends to actualize a new analytical effort to reassess human capital and FAPESP's role and contribution on agriculture economic development.
