Abstract

This research aims to realize the limnological monitoring in sections of the Macacos stream, located in the municipality of Alvares Machado. For this, quarterly sampling will be done in five sections, the first in the source stream, the second, 600 m downstream from the source, the third located 600 m from the second section, the fourth in the tributary and the fifth, 120 m downstream of the tributary. The variables to be evaluated are water temperature (T), electrical conductivity (EC), turbidity (Turb), pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), ammonia nitrogen (N-NH4), nitrate using a parametric Multiprobe Hanna brand model HI9829, dissolved phosphorus, soluble reactive phosphorus, phosphorus total according to Mackereth et al. (1978), chlorophyll a according to Golterman et al. (1978) and suspended matter according to Wetzel & Likens (1991). The monitoring results will be tabulated in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and the statistical analysis will be performed by Principal Component Analysis using Statistica for Windows software. This statistical treatment will aim to analyze possible temporal and spatial trends.
