Abstract

The electrics vehicles have been considered as alternative to the mobility due to either reduced emission of greenhouse effect gases as less demand of fossil fuels in comparison to traditional vehicles with combustion engine. The uses and production of electric vehicle is still in consolidation at the worldwide market in that many technical challenges (project and commercial feasibility) should be overcome. Brazil has not yet internal sales market for electric vehicle. There is neither a scale production nor R&D capabilities in private companies. However, there is not yet clear information about the research and development potential at the Brazilian TSI (Technology and Science Institutes). The main objective of the project is to analyze if there is and what are the technological capabilities in Brazilian TSI. The methodology focused on the CNPq Research Groups Directory as a way to mapping out and understands the CNPq Research Groups that develop knowledge applicable to the electric vehicle. The result of this project is a databank with quantitative and qualitative information on technological competencies applicable to the electric vehicle according to different technological areas.
