Abstract Holographic interferometry (HI) is a powerful and interesting technique to study deformation and vibration of objects. The HI technique takes advantages of interference pattern of fringes for non-destructive analysis. Holographic interferometry technique has been important to engineering and to the industries once that many other techniques, such as real time holographic interferometry, double-exposure interferometry and time average holographic interferometry have been used and developed and these techniques have the HI as principle. It has been used photosensitive polymers as a sensor in a lot if research, however, these materials make the process laborious. Other materials like the photorefractive crystals can be used like a sensor to measure deformations and vibrations and the use of these materials makes the process to be less laborious. The usage of photorefractive crystals as sensor allows the use of the same experimental setup for both types of measurement and the phase image can be analyzed in real time without any image or chemical processing. In this project we intend to carry out a piece of research in the laboratory of non-destructive testing of the Space Center of Liege (CSL) in Belgium for 6 months. In the laboratory of CSL, coordinated by Dr. Marc Georges, we have as a purpose to have contact with several techniques to related and developed using interferometric holography. According to my experience about the photorefractive crystals and techniques for hologram stabilized recording, especially the self-stabilized recording we intend to share information and acquire new knowledge about the techniques applied and developed in the CSL laboratory.
