Abstract

The relationship of databases is frequently used in studies and the management of databases. Using this method demonstrated an improvement in the quality of such data. However, there are several techniques of a relationship without a clear consensus on what would be the best choice . Objective: To compare the use of probabilistic record linkage Fellegi - Sunter with the stochastic probabilistic method, analyzing the time of each procedure, the percentage of true pairs found in each process, and agreement by kappa statistics. Furthermore, this study also aims to compare the ease of use between the two procedures.Methods: the information contained in the database PROAIM (Program for Improvement of Information on Mortality in São Paulo ) and the database PBCR - SP ( Registration of Population-based Cancer of São will be used for this study Paulo ) related to ovarian cancer.
