Abstract

This research suggests a continuity of reflection, critical process and learning about architecture with the relevance of the contemporary production and importance of the development of scientific research in architecture studies integrating theory and practice. The objective of the research is to investigate the modus operandi of a Brazilian and Chilean emerging generation of architects, while multiple case studies to which the temporal proximity to the object of study conditions the investigation of a historical-critical reflection. The theoretical framework of this proposal will occur-the philosophical of pragmatism, where theory and practice are not separate entities. To this end, we propose an interface of pragmatism with the architecture by analyzing the architecture and design registrations as a mechanism for understanding of the product-process-context of contemporary architectural production, and the use of interviews with architects. Is understood as product the graphic representation of architecture as well as its physical embodiment, the built architectural. For context means the sociocultural, economic and historical factors as well as the location, the scenery, the physical geography of the space to be intervened by the product, besides the intrinsic own private room design activity. And by process means the activities of analysis, synthesis and evaluation to identify existing or development of a problem and its subsequent solution architectural review. The achieved results will be presented in a qualitative way from a comparative analysis of style, method and project solutions of the group of architects proposed in this research. (AU)
