Abstract

In this project we will investigate materials that use effects of generation of multiple excitons and plasmon effects for the application in solar cells. These phenomena is observed in particles with quantum confinment that have dimensions of about few nanometers. This work will focus on a development of a system of laser ablation to produce the particles in two different ways: 1) in colluidal solutions and 2) in vacuum. Their structural, optoelectronical and thermomechanical properties will be studied by different techniques like Rutherford Back-Scattering spectroscopy (RBS), X-ray diffracition, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman scattering, luminescence, optical absorption, Scannin Electron Microscopy (SEM). Developed particles will be used in solar cells for verification of quantum efficiency and final efficiency of the solar cells. (AU)
