Abstract

In the second half of 2013, the student Rudolf F. P. Paternost initiated a directed study for an undergraduate student research supervised by Professor Newton Geraldo Bretas, which consisted in study of the discipline Static Analysis of Electrical Power Systems, discipline to a basic understanding of electrical networks. Completed the theoretical part, the student programmed the algorithm of solving the problem of non-linear load flow. This research project has two main objectives. The first consists in the improvement of the load flow algorithm to make it possible to simulate realistic electrical networks. For this, the student will study controllers and limits, external equivalents and analysis alteration in electrical power systems to further complement the algorithm. The load flow study should provide the student the basic knowledge for him, in the future, study state estimation in electrical powers systems. The second objective of the project is to assist students of the discipline Stability of Electrical Power Systems to develop the load flow algorithm, a necessary requirement for them to program the algorithm for solving the problem of stability in electrical power systems.
