Abstract

The following research project is at the context where Design and Education find each other to create new teaching practices, intending to create a model of Education which is appropriate for contemporary society. From these relations, a research proposal is made in which the knowledge of Design will be applyed, especially those related to analysing and solving problems, for Education matter. First, the definition of Education adopted in the discussion is introduced. Then, a synthesis of brazilian current Education is placed, besides examples already deployed succesfully which intends to transform Education. We stand up for the idea that these examples have something in common to Design thinking. Thus, Design is defined as a way of thinking and teaching, which can be learned and applyed by any person when working out on day-to-day issues. So the concepts of Design Thinking are introduced to justify this thought. We also present deployed examples of ways to insert Design in primary school curriculums. We propose a research about the mentioned references, besides a study at the school applying the Design Thinking concepts on teaching methods. The expected results are: a speculation about the contribution of Design at Education by the Design Thinking; a contribution for the teaching and learning for students and teacher involved at the research and the incentive to the enterprises at this subject.
