Abstract

The energy transition from oil refineries to biorefineries also involves obtaining chemical compounds, traditionally derived from petrochemicals. The fractionation of petroleum and the reforming and cracking processes obtain products with high energy value, such as gasoline, diesel and kerosene, in addition to products that supply the petrochemical industry such as asphaltenes, lubricating oils, alkanes of one to twenty carbons, olefins , naphthenics and aromatics. Thus, biorefineries align biomass conversion processes (renewable), in a similar way to an oil refinery (non-renewable). This is the theme to be developed in this IC within the "Eyes on the Future" Program, which has been developed since 2019 and already has 14 teaching and research units at UNICAMP, with the Faculty of Chemical Engineering - FEQ, being one of them. The "Eyes on the Future" Program presents different proposals for interaction with public school students around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, based on a totally interdisciplinary approach, having the teaching through research as one of its principles. In this sense, this IC project involves SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy, and its links with SDG 4 - Quality education. Based on the identification of specific competencies in each area of knowledge, and within them the skills and their codes in the National Common Curricular Base, the project will develop the training process, which integrates scientific, conceptual and methodological knowledge, to be designed and systematized in the context of the transition oil refinery - biorefinery. Didactic-pedagogical material will be produced, focusing on students in the 2nd and 3rd years of high school, for extension actions in state schools. The guiding idea of the activities is interconnected with the development objectives of secondary education, which is to ensure the students involved "a training that, in tune with their paths and histories, allows them to define their life project, both with regard to study and work, as well as with regard to healthy, sustainable and ethical lifestyle choices", according to the BNCC.
