Abstract

It is our aim is to continue the preliminary study described in a research project where superconductivity around 11 K was observed in the system (Nb, Zr) B. For this, we intend to produce a series of samples with stoichiometries (NB1-xZrx) B; x = 0, 0:05, 0:10, 0:15, 0:20, 0:25 and 0:30. These samples will be characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical resistivity R (T), dc magnetization M (T) and specific heat Cp (T) in a wide range of temperature between 1.8 and 50 K. Eventually characterizations of R (T), M (T) and Cp (T) will be performed in the presence of applied magnetic fields up to 9 T (90 kOe).
