Abstract

Nowadays, the interest of the scientific community in the study of switched dynamical systems is increasing. These systems are composed by a finite number of subsystems and a rule that selects at each instant of time one of them in order to assure stability and global performance for the overall system. The motivation comes from their intrinsic characteristics that allow to obtain a stable trajectory even if all subsystems are unstable or to enhance the global performance even if all subsystems are stable. For switched linear systems, the literature is rich and presents several works dealing with stability analysis, performance certification and state and output feedback control design. Conversely, there exists only few works dealing with switched affine systems and, therefore, the field of study is very broad. These systems are more involved than the linear ones, since they present several equilibrium points making a region on the state space. As a natural progression of the works that have been developed by my research group, the goal of this project is to deal with dynamic output feedback control design of switched affine systems, which is theme of great interest nowadays.
