Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic joint disease characterized by progressive degeneration of cartilage and bone tissue accompanied by the appearance of subchondral cysts, osteophyte formation and synovial inflammation. Although there is no cure for OA, treatment is directed to each patient, seeking to minimize pain, maintain or improve joint range of motion and limit disability. To evaluate the efficacy of a treatment it is important to use the correct methods of assessing both physical and functional. Most studies have included self-reported measures based on questionnaires, such as the WOMAC, SF-36, IPAQ, EVA. Although there are numerous methods in the literature review of evolutionary related to the treatment of knee OA employing physical methods of rating in the functional complementation tests and self-report questionnaires, little is known about the correlation between these methods. The objective of this study is to assess the level of correlation between the physical capacity tests, functional tests and questionnaires used. Participants will study a total of 80 patients (males and females 18-80 years) who are diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis and who do not meet any exclusion criteria. (AU)
