Abstract

This project intends to develop and to validate CE-MS methods, at both positive and negative electrospray ionization modes, to explore their capability for the urinary targeted metabolic profiling of amino acids and carboxylic acids in the assessment of Vesicoureteral Reflux. In the method development, compositions of the background electrolyte, sheath liquid and instrumental parameters will be systematically varied and optimized at both ionization modes. Data will be processed and statistically evaluated by means of multivariate methods, including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares projection to latent structures (PLS) based on variants. Discriminatory metabolites will then be quantified by the validated proposed methods. (AU)
