Abstract

We are seeing a crisis involving the childhood and some examples of this crisis are violence, abuse, abandonment, exploration of child labor, hunger and a growing number of children who experience problems in the school environment which often are directed to mental health services. The search starts from the hypothesis that childhood demand for specialized services seems to emerge as the creation of pre - existing and not the reverse process technical knowledge. The purpose is to identify through a bibliographical study, historical markers that demonstrate the process of referrals of children with learning difficulties initially sent to the Special Education and now directed to mental health services. The method used will be the theoretical literature survey from articles published in the period 2001 to 2013, located in national academic platforms (online system), by means of keywords pertaining to the subject of study. This study contributes to a qualitative historical- critical analysis of the elements that have intensified the process of send students to health services, reflecting on the role of expert in health - in interface with the education - and discussing the inclusion of medical and psychological discourse in the school and their consequences in terms of send of children with learning problems, in addition to analyzing the contribution of specialist knowledge with others knowledges that form the educational process and exhaust the roles of parents and teachers.
