Abstract

This research project aims to complete the development of a new version of the program in LabVIEW, previously developed in Delphi language, to be applied in a prototype provided with LED lamps, a TV, a fan, and a security alarm, using ZigBee technology. It's intended that this new version, more complete, will be possible to be used in a prototype of a real home with sustainable building enabling integration with smart grid projects, providing an interdisciplinary and integration between projects. The study of LabVIEW provided a knowledge base for several needs and innovations that arise in the expansion of the system. A prototype of a home allows the study of the actual situation with the difficulties and facilities of the everyday user, providing a survey of enhancements to the system to operate with full effectiveness. Completing the system, another important point is the setting of schedule, which will allow a profile to be activated at a date and time desired by the user. Thus, being away from home, the user has the guarantee of safety and proper functioning of the devices in their home. The expansion will bring the need to develop new sensors modules. The same will be made on the Campus by the students involved in the study, providing a practical advancement in the disciplines of electronic circuits, through analysis of the appropriate application components, and knowledge in microcontroller programming, these are essential to future practical engineering expertise. As a trend of online communication today, the project also aims to develop an application for smartphones that will allow the user to control and monitor the activities of their home anywhere over the internet. The objective is that the finished software will be flexible, simple and friendly, in personal computers, either directly or through remote access, such as through smartphones. At the end of the research, the system applied in home environments, equipped with smart lighting, will promote user energy savings and comfort. In conducting this research it will also contribute to the energy and environmental aspects of city planning in FAPESP 2013/07287-3 project named "Sustainable City Planning: Models and Technologies."
