Abstract

The aim of present study is to verify the occurrence of polymorphism in JY-1 gene and its association with in vivo and in vitro embryo production in Holstein donors. For this purpose, 120 non lactating donos of embryos and oocytes will be submitted to the superovulation and follicular aspirations biotechnologies. Donors will be classified according to embryo production (high or low) based on the retrospective data obtained in 2013 and 2014. For identification of polymorphism in JY-1 gene, samples of hair follicles located in the tail of the animals will be harvested for DNA extraction. Genomic DNA samples will have a region of exon 2 amplified and sequenced to detect polymorphisms. After the procedure, the analysis of the possible relationship between in vivo and in vitro embryo production with polymorphisms in the JY-1 gene will be done. (AU)
