Abstract

From the paradigm of land, i.e., the configurations of systems of relations among men, orientation and exchange, this research aims to explore how in the Theory by Literature we can thing the migration of images, objects, ideas and texts in a broad historical and geographical context from their critical fictions in a work of art. The focus of the project is reading the installative's work by Cildo Meireles, Missão/Missões - Como construir catedrais (Mission / Missions - How to Build Cathedrals), 1987. We will study the fictional powers from the choice of factors (coins, hosts, bones) for the establishment of an order historical, artistic and fictional. In this research, we will make a relationship between the Cildo's work and the "Plank A" by Warburg's Atlas Mnemosyne. Therefore, we will analyze the context of its work in Paris on the occasion of the exhibition Magiciens de la Terre, the great hall of the Villette's Park, curated by Jean-Hubert Martin. In the context of mounting investigate the tops of the earth and its teratological and cartographic constitution, constituting for the Theory of Literature a strong point of contact with the Culture's Science (Kulturwissenschaft) thought by Aby Warburg and Georges Didi-Huberman, Massimo Cacciari, Walter Benjamin, Ernst Robert Curtius. Finally, for the constitution of a teratology the topos of the earth, we will tour the fictional spaces by Meireles in tension between the earth and the map. Drawing on geography, i.e., written with the earth, the literary universe from the earth as graphically representable space (peoples without map) disrupts the ideal space of representation by the atlas (maps without people).
