Abstract

propagation by seeds is the main medium for the reproduction of native forest species; therefore, it is necessary to generate knowledge for the analysis of the same. The proper evaluation of the physiological potential of forest tree seeds is essential of seedlings producers, as it enables the proper choice of lots more storage potential, allowing the seedling production in longer period of time. In this context, the work will be conducted with the following objectives: to evaluate the internal morphology of seeds of three forest species, using the x-ray test, and its relation with germination; study the efficiency of computerized analysis of seedlings in the assessment of seed vigor during storage. For this, will be used three tree species found in the riparian forest of São Paulo State (cities of Piracicaba, São Pedro and Brotas): Jacaratia spinosa (Aubl.) DC, Bauhinia longifolia (Bong.)Steud. and Nectandra cissiflora Nees. The internal morphology of the seeds will be evaluated at the beginning of the research and evaluation of the effect of the seeds will be held in two times (at the beginning of the storage and four months after); the computerized analysis of seedlings will be compared with other tests traditionally used to assess the vigor of forest seeds (first count of germination, accelerated aging and electrical conductivity).
