Abstract

This research project seeks to describe ethnographically the economic relations between four collectives of the Rede Fora do Eixo situated in cities of the heartland of São Paulo, with frequent circulation of services, products and people between them. It is expected to describe how the relations of exchange are quantified in a social currency denominated card and to demonstrate the way in which the qualitative dimensions of the exchange are meant by the members of the collectives, who demonstrates a particular way of thinking and dealing with economy. The research also seeks to analyse the positioning of the collectives Fora do Eixo in relation between themselves and with outside agents in order to differentiate their practices that privilege sharing and cooperation in oppose to individualistic and marketing relations that prevails in the capitalist economy. Therefore, I´m pretend to think the collectives Fora do Eixo as fomenting a complementarity between gift and commodity, a classic theme in the Economic Anthropology. (AU)
