Abstract

Clinical pharmacy is the health science whose responsibility is to ensure and contribute with pharmaceutical knowledge that the use of medications must be safe and appropriate to improve patient care. In an oncology admission unit, patients receive multiple concomitant medications to treat their cancer, comorbidities and signs and symptoms related to cancer. The objective of this study will evaluate the impact of clinical pharmacy safe use of medications in an oncology unit of a specialized hospital in women's health, through quantitative analysis of pharmaceutical interventions, reducing the rate of prescription errors, and variations throughout the study. The work will be developed in Hospital Prof woman Dr. Jose Aristodemo Pinotti/UNICAMP, the Inpatient Unit of Clinical Oncology, for a period of 12 months. Pharmaceutical interventions will be done through analysis of electronic prescriptions, medical records on admission may be accepted, partially accepted or not accepted by the medical staff and subsequently quantified and classified . The errors of prescriptions that are prevented from accepted pharmaceutical interventions will also be classified. Then, we will analyze the clinical significance of accepted pharmaceutical interventions and prescription errors prevented. Quantitative data collected (prescription errors, pharmaceutical interventions) will be statistically analyzed comparing the number of these data at the beginning and end of the study. Statistical tests will be performed to each group of data obtained, in addition to descriptive statistics for the analysis and presentation of results. (AU)
