Abstract

Electoral geography is a field of geography that investigates the effect of the spacial context on electoral results. Studies using this approach still are relatively rare in Brazil, and mostly concerned with national or statewide elections using aggregated data from municipalities. This proposal focuses on the relationship between voters' socioeconomic profile and their electoral preferences at pooling places level. Consequently, the main question of the proposal would be whether voters' socioeconomic profile affects their electoral preferences.
