Abstract

The aim is to discuss the modernization by the cultural context in the Midwest region of Brazil in the years 1940 and the through symbolization and use of Cine-Teatro Cuiabá and Cine-Teatro Goiânia, so much space (uses for the culture) of the theatrical building, and yours architecture. During the period of the federal intervenors was established in region a process of change and reforms that longed for the progress in the States of Mato Grosso and Goiás through several projects built with the support of the federal government at the time led by Getúlio Vargas. In this proposal, we intend to analyze how such process was represented in newspapers, magazines, reports, plays etc., constructed from an ideal legitimizer of context civilizing of the estado novo and the relationship between these ideas with the actions performed by the culture, developing a cultural modernization which we intend to study; and through her build an interpretation about the period in question with a view to understanding the relationship between state, culture and society.
