Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the structural and morphological differences in coronal dentin from human and bovine primary teeth. The crowns of primary teeth will be selected according to the following groups (n=10): (A) molars human teeth, (B) central incisor maxillary human teeth and (C) incisor bovine teeth. The crowns will be sectioned in the vestibular-lingual direction, polished with 400- and 800- grit Sic papers to obtain a plane surface and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to calculate the number of dentin tubules (per mm2) and to measure the dentin tubule diameter using Image J 1.45 software. The results will be submitted to appropriate statistical tests considering the studied factors and statistical significance level of 5%.
