Abstract

Objective: To assess attitudes towards Statistics of students from three courses to graduate from dental field with clinical performance. Methods: This cross-sectional study. All students enrolled in the three courses graduate (Dentistry: n = 70; Dental Science: n = 89; Oral Rehabilitation: n = 37), Masters and Doctoral level, the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara in the years 2014 and 2015 will be invited to announce. As measuring instruments will be used the Clinician Attitudes Toward Biostatistics and the Scale of Attitudes toward Statistics (EAE). Information to characterize the sample will be raised. The psychometric properties of the instruments in the sample will be evaluated. Psychometric sensitivity of the items, the factorial and convergent validity and internal consistency will be estimated. Factorial validity is evaluated using confirmatory analysis with the indices of fit c2/gl, CFI, GFI, RMSEA. Convergent validity is computed from the Average Variance Extracted (AVE) and composite reliability (CC). Internal consistency is estimated using Cronbach's coefficient alpha (a). The average scores of "Attitudes toward statistics" and domains of Clinician Attitudes Toward Biostatistics will be estimated by algorithm obtained from the weights of the regression matrix and compared according to the variables of interest by analysis of variance. Multiple comparisons will be carried out by post-Tukey test.
