Abstract

The subject of this proposal is the Late Latin work of literature by unknown author, Historia Apollonii regis Tyri. The research project consists of an integral translation to Portuguese of Latin text preceded by an analytical introduction which examines the narrative structure of the work. To complete the translation, notes and commentary highlighting some cultural aspects of the text (aspects of the realities of ancient life presented in the text, literary contextualization, history of the text, symbols, etc.) with the aim of giving support to a reader who, although not specialized, is interested in ancient novels in general, and Latin novels in particular.
