Abstract

CVD-diamond has undergone many fundamental investigations and applications in INPE and that resulted in applications and even with the birth of "spin-off". While much has been done, the scientific community continues to pursue a higher degree of diamond applications where its mono crystalline structure is the main focus. With this proposal we aim at, unlike the proposed DD, but still innovate which is to get the mono crystalline diamond structure doped to obtain the different colorations via low pressures and low temperatures, ie via chemical reactions in the vapor phase (English CVD, Chemical Vapor Deposition), His colorful structure is due to the different possibilities of doping. It is expected from yellow structure due to doping with nitrogen, and blue due to doping with boron. Will be studied, theoretically and experimentally, the mechanisms to get it this desired structure whose applications in optics, electronics, heat sinks in "ships" high performance, as stated earlier may represent a differentiation with respect to single crystal diamond transparent. Thus, the behavior of the main parameters obtained via discharge microwave plasma (2.45 GHz) high power and its relationship to the degree of purity and monocristalinidade will be studying-. In this case, additional difficulties have to be resolved due to doping are made in a system of discharge plasma, not yet experienced in our laboratory. We want to get mono crystal CVD diamond-high purity in the form of blocks and show the possibilities of cutting the various plans. Again, it is known that one of the greatest difficulties is to control the thermal gradient of the substrate and gate from the substrate to initiate the nucleation process until the end of growth, which means a sophisticated design of the interior of the reactor. Analysis via Raman scattering spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, SEM, AFM, make parts of everyday characterizations of this study. Search applications have viewed will be an ongoing task of this project.
