Abstract

This project is an exploratory study to be realized with the occupational therapy undergraduate courses of the public universities in Sao Paulo state, Brazil. It aims to identify and to discuss the insertion of gender issues, specially focusing on travestility and transsexuality. The occupational therapists practical and theoretic background creates a fundamental point to know, inside of the Brazilian state with the biggest number of professionals, undergraduation courses, professors, and researchers. It is import to look at the references used to discuss the resources applied to occupational therapist education. In the one hand, it is an expected result of this project to create such references; in the other hand, is expected that the achieved results may be helpful to the assistance processes, creating strategies to deal with the vulnerabilities that surround the day-by-day lives of the people that live the travestility and transsexuality experience from an occupational therapy point of view.
