Abstract

Taking into account that the educational needs are not determined exclusively by organic factors and individual student-centered, but by a multitude of factors that depict, in many situations, poor literacy of the general conditions of a significant portion of the population is possible to understand the risk to make an analysis of distorted educational reality when these social factors are disregarded due to the overvaluation of individual aspects. Among the numerous factors that can justify such distortion is relevant to that portion of misunderstanding professional education and health has on the processes of teaching and learning conditioned solely to biological conditions. In the wake of approaches that reduce educational problems inherent limitations to the students, the school has been removed from the co-responsibility in overcoming such problems and has been delegated to health professionals holder's place of scientific knowledge can explain and solve problems involved with the teaching do without such professionals in many situations, have been trained for this. Traditionally, occupational therapists have figured in the list of health professionals who work in education, through actions directed predominantly to students with disabilities. More recently, this work has expanded their actions in the educational context, to be bothered with learning difficulties. However, the scarcity of studies on the formation of the Occupational Therapist to work in education, with regard to these difficulties, no evidence has allowed the configuration of this professional role in the educational context in order to distinguish their actions from those proposed by other health professionals or even if such action is necessary. Under these assumptions, this research, the nature documentary, aims to identify the formation of disciplines includes occupational therapist and / or contents that address knowledge about: the processes of teaching and learning of reading and writing, the multiplicity of factors involved in learning difficulties, as well as defining the role of the professional face of such difficulties, by studying the curriculum of 22 courses in Occupational Therapy, from institutions of higher education - IES, public and private, of the state of São Paulo. Data analysis will include the election of themes. In situations that do relevant, will be performed quantitative analysis of the data obtained. (AU)
