Abstract

The project proposal is to study the changes of facial expression while individuals practice resistance exercise during execution of bench press exercise equipment smith press (3 sets of about 10 repetitions maximum (RM), an interval of three minutes between sets) till muscle fatigue and relate them to the changing time cadence or speed movement for each repetition during the concentric muscle actions (measured by equipment Peak Power). The analysis will be carried out through subjective interpretation of facial expression, using the methodology described by Ekman (1978), through the references called Units of Action (UA). This study will analyze the UA 4, 6 and 12. To this end, two digital cameras will record the images, one capturing the top view (face images of the volunteer) and another, a front view (movement of the arms of the volunteer).
