Abstract

Are unquestionable the breastfeeding benefits. Despite advocating the World Health Organization of exclusive breastfeeding until six months of age and breastfeeding up to two years, early weaning is common, with use of drugs as determinants. Objective: To caracterize the nursing mothers of the south of the city, identifying the prescription drugs, or not, most used by them, correlating with the risk categories for this phase of a woman's life. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study with quantitative and qualitative approach. At the Home visits, will be interviewed all women who gave birth in 2012 and 2013, users of the Family Health Units in the southern region of the city, using a semi-structured interview instrument. Quantitative data will be analyzed using the chi-square or Fisher's Exact Test and will be considered statistically significant variables with p d 0.05. Qualitative data will be analyzed using the technique of the Collective Subject Speech. All interviewees will be informed about the aims of the research, use of recording and authorization by signing the consent form.
