Abstract

The increasing number of publications in flow chemistry chows that this area is gaining more importance in the scientific community. Its many advantages, when compared with bath methodologies, makes flow protocols very interesting form a industrial point of view. Heterogenous catalysis can be easily exploited in flow chemistry. The fact that the catalyst can immobilized in a fixed bed allows a perfect adaptation for the protocols already stablished in the literature. From this combination, a series of advantages arise, for instance, a higher durability of the catalyst is achieved and isolation of the final product is simplified. In this project, a new kind of support for heterogenous catalysis will studied: carbon nanotubes. To the present moment, there are no reports in the literature regarding the uso of this material to immobilize catalysts or organic ligands. Initially, this new support will be evaluated in the reaction of organizing compounds with aldehydes to synthesize diarylmethanols enantiomerically pure. (AU)
