Clinical portrait of LELu bereaved population in the year 2014

Abstract

Grief is a natural and expected process in response to the breakup of a relationship . Therefore, it is experienced in different ways by each individual, revealing its multidimensional character. The present study represents a continuation and deepening of research conducted between 2013 and 2014 , which aimed to address the problem " what is the population seeking psychotherapy of bereavement in Laboratory for Studies and Interventions on Grief - Lelu " . To this end, document analysis of 90 questionnaires Hogan Grief Reaction Checklist (HGRC) , answered by bereaved patients seeking Lelu, between 2011 and 2012, at the Psychological Clinic Ana Maria Poppovic (PUC - SP) was performed as part of the regular process of specialized psychological screening for this population. The information collected based the identification of risk and protective factors for complicated grief and focused on the associations between gender, cause of death, relationship between bereaved and deceased, analyzed under the light indicators offered by the instrument : guilt, anger , personal growth, detachment .From these results the present research involves quantitative and qualitative analysis of the content obtained from the same population in order to specify needs and possibilities of psychotherapy to offer specific psychological care . The HGRC questionnaires will be matched with the accounts of the respective two screening interviews which are usually made with all who seek psychotherapy in Lelu, allowing the content analysis of these interviews along with the interpretation of the responses to HGRC, a study methodologically described as multiple case studies , enabling a broad understanding of the conditions in mourning this population as the cause of death , gender of the bereaved , relationship , bond quality , time elapsed between death and demand , among others . The material will be collected by psychologists serving in Lelu, as their routine screening , and analyzed by the researcher, ensuring the conditions of secrecy about the identity of the participant. Case studies of all adult patients who seek the Lelu in the year 2014 - will be made with a detailed demographic and clinical description of this population, precise indications of psychotherapeutic interventions indicated for each case .As it comes to documentary analysis, there is no need for submission to the ethics committee on human research.
