Abstract

In our country, during the heavy rains, sometimes natural disasters occur. Almost always, one notices the lack of planning to address some of these situations it is recurrent occurrence of floods that have caused the isolation of communities. With the prospect of using the concept of Bayle bridge, this paper will work on developing a design of a wooden bridge modular typology for use on local roads in emergency situations generated primarily by the floods. Also aims to prepare a draft of modular typology that provides a cost-effective, through a structure with elements allowing easy transportation and assembly, and facilitate their implementation. Thus, the construction of this bridge provides, in a first instance, to prevent the isolation area due to flooding that was previously served by the side road normally. Further, it is expected that the bridge has adequate performance over requests, especially when the traffic route. At first, this paper proposes to develop a model for bridge modules that will have a lattice type of wood, which will examine the feasibility of applying braces. Likewise, if you develop the design of the connections that suit, like the superstructure, the conditions of transport, installation and maintenance. This project also has the purpose of serving the municipalities experiencing such emergency situations regarding flooding in their local roads. Therefore, the scope of this proposal is to develop a manual that allows a trained staff, possibly the mayor, put the bridge with the required materials as per the specifications provided and follow the procedures as to the manufacture, storage, transportation, construction and maintenance referenced in this manual. The proposed undergraduate research interest has been ratified by the Secretary of the works of the Municipality of São Luiz do Paraitinga.
