Abstract The research investigates some aesthetic issues explored in the work of Theodor Adorno from the reception of the Wagner case, Nietzsche, especially those dedicated to cultural themes in the passage from the 19th century to the 20th century. Thus, this study did not intend only to highlight the possible limits of criticism's contention, but, above all, aim for the dimension "uncurrent" and "extemporaneous" of his work. Thus, it is intended to present the broad outlines of a review of the Wagner case indicating their heritage and its influence on the aesthetic, philosophical and sociological reflections on art in the 20th century.
